Magnesium. What is it good for?
The short answer is a hell of a lot. But we figure you might want more detail then that....
This little powerhouse mineral has been linked to over 300 enzymatic reactions (think chemical reactions) in our body, varying from muscle and nerve function to blood glucose control to the regulation of blood pressure. Recent statistics show that 1 in 4 Australians are not meeting the daily dietary intake requirements to maintain adequate Magnesium levels and there are some estimates that between 60-80% of the population are actually deficient... it's a problem.
Why use Magnesium Oil? Interestingly, the body actually absorbs Magnesium via the skin (aka transdermal absorption) more effectively than it does via oral supplements (like powder or tablets). So to increase your daily Magnesium intake, and general wellbeing, you can can simply spray on our Magnesium Oil, rub it into your skin then off you go. No residue, no chalkiness - just naturally good stuff.
How can it impact you directly? Here are some of the common conditions that an increase in your daily Magnesium absorption may assist with:
1. Headaches and Migraines.
Magnesium is a natural and effective way to help combat headaches and migraines. How? By relaxing your blood vessels and allowing them to dilate, the spasms and constrictions that can cause headaches and migraines are reduced. When using Magnesium to prevent headaches and migraine pain it is best to apply your Magnesium Spray to your neck and shoulder area. Applying a little to your temples when experiencing a migraine may also help reduce the immediate symptoms.
2. Sleeplessness
Magnesium has been show to assist with increasing relaxation and improving deep sleep patterns. It does this by raising your melatonin levels and decreasing your cortisol levels - both of which are essential reactions in the body to ensure to a long and deep sleep. To aide with sleep, apply your Magnesium Spray to your feet and lower legs about 20 minutes before bedtime.
3. General Wellbeing (including energy levels, work out recovery and muscle health)
Magnesium is known as a Master mineral and is essential is so many physiological processes. Cellular energy production relies heavily on Magnesium so when you are deficient you will often feel tired and low in energy. By increasing your intake, production in your body's major form of energy ATP can increase and so will your energy. Magnesium is also key for muscle relaxation, muscle contraction, optimal circulation and calcium balance, all of which assist in recovery from workouts or just a busy day and aide in maintaining healthy and cramp-free muscles.
There are numerous others as well - Period Pain, Mood, Blood Sugar Balance (and associated cravings), Joint and Ligament Flexibility, Calming of the Nervous System, Serotonin Production, Pain Relief.
