We're in love with more than just the impeccable minimalist design of Morihata Binchotan Charcoal products. They’re truly effective at purifying, preventing bacteria growth and deodorizing. There's a long history behind Binchotan Charcoal. Japanese artisans in the Kishu region have been burning oak branches for centuries, and clearly they know what they're doing. The charcoal is blended into the fibers of the Binchotan products, which work to draw dirt out of pores, minimize excess oil and improve blood circulation. It also doesn't hurt that these products will make your bathroom look enviously sophisticated.
Morihata's Japanese-designed bath and body range, which uses extra-fine charcoal powder (made by grinding up Binchotan, or Japanese white charcoal) in its eye mask, facial sponge, body-scrub towel, pumice stone, and even an obsidian toothbrush.
In all of the products, the Binchotan sets to work to draw dirt out of pores, absorb odors and excess oil, and improve blood circulation. The vegetable-fibre facial sponge, for example, is one of the softest and most effective exfoliators we’ve come across—it feels like it’s smoothing, not tearing your face off. And, because of the charcoals purifying powers, no additional cleanser necessary. The body scrub has one slightly coarser side for exfoliating and a soft side for everyday cleansing. Charcoal's natural anti-bacterial qualities keep this towel mildew-free when left in the shower area. The Alex-Wang-esque black toothbrush with the Binchotan charcoal blended into each bristle of this toothbrush prevents bad breath, deodorizes and removes plaque. Activated charcoal also gives off negative ions and prevents harmful bacteria from growing within the brush. The eye mask is embedded with a layer of Binchotan charcoal that emits infrared rays to relieve eye pressure and swelling, and boost circulation (meaning, come morning, you’ll look even better-rested than you feel).
We could just go on and on about Binchotan charcoal and its many benefits (ok we will…) also known as the highest quality activated charcoal for purifying water, Binchotan charcoal sticks can be used to absorb chemicals in tap water, capture moisture and odours from the air, enhance blood circulation in a hot bath, stimulate healthy soil in the garden and deflect negative ions in your home. WOW! It’s hard to think we have lived without these black beauties for so long..
